8/8 Lion’s Gate

Welcome to the season of Akhet,
which is the name the ancient Egyptians referred the season of the flood to, heralded their New Year, and is celebrated modernly as

Lion’s Gate Portal

The annual Heliacal rising of the Dog Star Sirius

(Sopdet to the ancient Egyptians & Sothis to the Greeks) coincided with the annual inundation of the Nile, and thus marked the new year, and calendar (Sothis based lunar calendar).

Sopdet is the cosmic counterpart of Isis, and her beloved, Orion, or the God Sahu to the Ancient Egyptians, is the cosmic counterpart of Osiris.

𓇼

Together they return to the sky after a 70 day sojourn in the underworld.

Mythologically, this was the resurrection of Osiris playing out in the skies above. Orion is followed by Sirius, and as he rises, it appears that Sirius raises him from a laying position on his back, to standing up straight and tall.

Mirrored on the earth below, the floods were Isis's tears, and the fertile black silt/soil deposited from the Nile floods were the regeneration magic that would bring the green vegetation back, the fertile land coming back to life - Isis resurrecting Osiris.

Their great love story played out in the stars above, and in the earth below.

As above, So below.

Sirius and Orion have been venerated in indigenous, religious and spiritual cultures all over the world throughout human history.

How have the last 70 days been for you?

I see Lion’s Gate as an immense opportunity to connect our consciousness to the collective of Light workers, those awake in the dream, and a potent reminder of who we are…

Essentially we have a great opportunity to further empower Divine Light as the guiding path.

The heliacal rising (meaning dawn) of Sirius,  is determined by when you can see Sirius with the naked eye, and arrives differently around the world based on Latitude North.

Here is a table according to the calculations of Belgian meteorologist-Astronomer Jean Meeus, so you can accurately calculate the dawn rising for yourself:

Lion's gate dates for 2024

This table is for 2024.

Based on astronomer Jean Meeus' equations, shows the predicted heliacal rising for Sirius for selected northern hemisphere latitudes.

By his calculations, Egypt had its rising exact on Aug 1st, which is also a very powerful Chi node, celebrated and marked with the Sabbat of Lughnasadh (Lammas is the English translation), known as the 'first fruits harvest' of the Northern Hemisphere, who's name is from Lugh, the grain god, who dies in the harvest to become transformed into the sustenance of the bread of life.

“The death of the grain and the death of the god were one and the same: the cereal was identified with the god who came from heaven; he was the bread by which man lives. The resurrection of the god symbolized the rebirth of the grain.”

~ Martin A. Larson, The Story of Christian Origins

Osiris is often referred to as the 'bread of life'... I love to see the correspondences between different mystical cultures!

The harvest time is one of reflection, and celebration of abundance. What are you harvesting so far from this year's work?
What do you need to release and heal to give you more space as you move into the harvest season deeper?
These are questions to consider contemplating.
