Taurus/Hathor New Moon
Taurus New Moon Blessings
♉︎︎
The moon met the sun in conjunction at 11:42 AM EST on May 19th in the fixed earth sign of Taurus.
I invoke laughter.
This is the 26th Ideal of the 42 Ideals of Ma'at.
This is important as we’ve just completed an eclipse cycle and Mercury has stationed direct. If it’s been difficult in the past month to consider invoking laughter, maybe now is a more appropriate time.

When we look to the Egyptian Pantheon, the Neteru, we find ourselves smiling big when it comes to Goddess Hathor. She is represented astrologically in the sign of Taurus, today's New Moon, and also celestially, we find Hathor aligned with Sky Goddess Nut and with the 7 stars of the Pleiades (the 7 Hathors).
Working with Hathor through these 7 cosmic energy streams helps to clear, strengthen, and awaken deeper into the 7 lights of the 7 chakras. Each are associated with specific sound vibrations. 7 is a number we see repeated throughout ancient Egyptian symbolism and architecture very frequently.

Hathor’s attributes and Divine functions are many, though as the Goddess of Joy, her epitaphs include the Goddess of merriment, celebration, music, dancing, jubilation, fun, laughter, drunkenness/intoxication...
Her festivals reigned supreme for fun, laughter, dancing, music- fusing an entire nation celebrating life and love.
Growing up in Ireland, one of the things I really appreciate about my upbringing and culture is laughter being a very central focus for Irish people. When people visit Ireland, their reports are usually how much fun they had, and how much they laughed.
Those of you who have traveled with me to Egypt know that at my core I am light hearted and a bit of a goofball and love cracking up! Reminding myself never to take myself too serious!
I also find the Egyptians to be quite funny, have a love for humour and joking around, and I've often said that the Egyptians are like the Irish of the Middle East.
Both cultures spanning eons, with a preservation of their sacred sites and pagan history, the Egyptians and the Irish were also connected in ancient times through the Druids and the Egyptian Priesthood. Here's a great article if you fancy a read, and if you chose to go down the rabbit hole. There is lots of research done on the connection between the 2 mystic cultures.
Thinking of laughter, I'm reminded by something one of my beloved teachers once told me, he said:
"never ever learn spirituality or do any type of deep spiritual training with someone who is angry or always serious because they're missing the point, and you will receive that resonance from them... you want to receive teacher transmissions that are full of light, joy, and the celebration and love for the spiritual path. You are meant to enjoy and be lit up by your walk with spirit!"
